As I was reading the other night, God pointed me to this passage in the Bible:

“If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14

This is SO powerful because I have known that I have a calling from God to reach out to this dark world for His glorious Kingdom, as we all do, and I have really been praying into exactly what he wants from me, as his faithful servant. I definitely know that direction, but it isn't fully clear yet as to when and how to take action. Money is a large portion of the wait, but I know God will provide me in His timing with all of the resources I need to take flight with this calling.

I just love the articulation, “you were made queen for just such a time as this” — we are called as followers of Christ to reach out in His name and not stay silent. This is such a relevant command, especially in the wake of the disaster our world is facing through these perilous times. We are to be queens & kings for Christ now more than ever . . . by that I mean LEADERS. We are to lead people to Christ and the abounding, endless love and hope that he has for all those called according to His purpose — that CAN be everyone if they choose!!

SO, get out there in this mess, don't try to hide or segregate yourselves and your family from what is going on now with the economy, government and society. We must dive in and radiate Christ’s light and help those in panic and need. The jobless, homeless, seniors who have lost all of their retirement money and many others come to mind. Seek these people out, and help them in Jesus' name. Pay for their dinner, help them look for a job, point them to the limitless resources of our merciful God. We are being called to serve a powerful purpose in such a time as this, so let's get out and show the weak, lonely, desperate, lost and so on, the love of our AWESOME God. You go, you Kings & Queens of Christ.

Well, yes, it has been insane!!! The month of March consisted of the following:
• coordinating outfits, etc for Noah's six month photo shoot

• hosting a fabulous lingerie shower for my dearest friend Jennifer

• feeling like i was in college again at her bachelorette (no, i didn't drink, but
we did have a BLAST at Louie Louie's, a piano bar)
• hosting a booth at our church's The Titus Project, youth girls event
• LOTS of work, and I mean LOTS
• visit from my mommy (Gran) for a week!

• being overtaken by a terrible icky cold/ upper respiratory/ sinus infection
• Noah being sick with an upper respiratory infection
• visit from Mike, Nathan's dad (Grandpa to Noah) for a long weekend

• Nathan's birthday
• being in Jennifer's wedding

• trying to get this fabulous website done that i have been working on for over a year!!
• preparing for my dad's arrival this thursday

can you see??? However, I am feeling so blessed to have been able to have such a fabulous and busy month. In spite of what the world is trying to tell us, God is still God of the Universe, and I am refreshed at that encouraging reminder. He is bigger than our economy and personal woes. You go God!

Noah's first bouquet of flowers

My dad, Noah's Grandpo, sent him this adorable bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day that was encased in a metal vintage fire truck! My dad said he got it for Noah for the truck, not really the flowers, but let me just tell you, that Noah BEYOND thoroughly enjoyed the flowers!! So, Dad, here is how much your grandson loved the gift . . . Love you lots!

He is the most precious blessing God could have ever given me. I have been exposed to way too many blogs and friends of friends that have babies that are very ill in the hospital, undergoing surgeries, fighting cancer . . . I don't know why God has exposed me to these, but it is an honor to pray fervently for these amazing families, who are completely relying on God's strength to get through. It also makes me thank God for Noah's health and safety, and I look at him with the most intense gratitude toward God. My heart aches literally for these families. I won't post links or anything to these families blogs, but please pray for them.

Noah is a true gem to me, and this Valentine's Day, I am at a loss for words to describe the gratefulness and love that I have for this precious boy. He is wearing a shirt in the photo that says, "Heartbreaker", and I mean, that boy just breaks my heart over HOW STINKIN ADORABLE he is!!!!! He has now been introduced to solid foods as of three days ago, and he is loving him some peas!!! He is such a great eater, and he just took to it immediately. He was like, "Why did you make me wait this long for this good stuff?!"

I wanted his Valentine's photo to be very red and lovey dovey!! I tried everything in my power to get Zoe on the couch next to him and pose for the photo, but she was much more into trying to get me to play with her toy. So, she didn't get in the photo. :(

Noah Thomas Hasse is the love of my life. I can't imagine one day without him, I don't even remember what life was like before him! The same thing goes for the most amazing husband in the entire world. Nathan is the keeper of my heart, and I am honored to be his wife. God is good. This Valentine's, I have a heart of gratitude. For my family, friends and most importantly, the God of the Universe. Happy Valentine's.

UPDATE ON TREY!!!

I talked to Sarah this morning, and Trey was in the OR ready for the biopsy, and the doctor came in and said at the last minute that there was no need to do it because his blood counts came way up (still low, but not of deep concern)!!! They think he could possibly have Parvo Virus.
They are going home from the hospital today, yippee!!! They have to go back on Thursday for another blood test.

So, keep praying for him, that he is healed of anything that is wrong in his body. Thank you so so much for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Sarah and the family are so grateful! Many blessings.

So I only have 3 first cousins total — Sarah, Amy & Connor. My cousin Sarah's son Trey, was sick last week with a fever, so they took him to the doctor and had his blood tested. It turned out that all of his blood counts were low, so they admitted him to the Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH to run various tests to determine the cause. Well, all of those tests came back negative, and they did another blood test, which told them that his blood cells aren't replenishing themselves currently. He is going in for a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow morning, and we are praying that the result doesn't point to Leukemia, which is a possible cause of what is going on. Please pray for my precious family, Trey, Sarah, Todd (his brother), Austin (his step-brother), Kim (my aunt, Trey's grandma), Sean (Trey's dad), Sean (Trey's step-dad), Amy (Sarah's sister, my cousin), Valerie (Amy's daughter) & Ethan (Amy's son). We are a very close family, and these kids are really being affected by this. Please pray for a favorable outcome, but most importantly God's will in all of this. Pray for strength for Trey and also for his mommy, Sarah. Thank you so much.

Here is an entry of randomness! Let's see, last week was very busy with work and Mr. Noah! I helped one of my dearest friends, Jenn, make invitation pockets for her gorgeous wedding invitations, Noah and I had lunch with our beloved DOEdoe & Uncle Fun (Donya & John) of DesignEnvy, whom I freelance design for (they are like family to us!) He sat in a restaurant high chair for the FIRST time at that lunch!, and we have been trying to fight off a cold that Noah has developed!

Gramps AB (Alex) bought Noah the most precious outfit just because . . . it is Polo! He has already worn it. Thanks Gramps AB!

I am very inspired to start making lots of different cupcakes. Wish me luck. I will be posting my successes (and/or failures!) Oh yeah, and I got out by myself today, which was much needed and had fun finding a few bargains, my favorite being a gorgeous rug for my kitchen which was only $6.99!!!

OH YEAH, and I bought Noah his first baby food! I am going to try to make it, but I thought this 100% organic baby food would be just as sufficient for now, until we get a food processor.

the things i love about Noah . . .

• the way he gets so excited to see me when i get him out of his crib in the morning or from a nap! he gets the biggest smile on his precious face.

• how he plays with my index finger and fingernail to fall asleep as i rock him.

• how he gets so excited any time zoe comes around him, or even in the same room . . . they are connected somehow! it is amazing.

• his talking. he talks all the time, i LOVE it.

• how he smells and how he feels.

• picking him up from his crib and just holding him so close to me and loving on him.

• how his ear will leave a perfect indention on my arm after i feed him!

• his spitting sounds, he is hilarious.

• his expression when we sing "This Is The Day The Lord Has Made" every single morning.

• that he falls peacefully asleep as I pray out loud over him, if I don't he fights sleep badly!!

• that he has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 weeks old!! 8 hours or more!

• how he kicks his adorable chunky legs in the bath and splashes me and the entire kitchen!!

• when he spits up, how he just smiles so big like nothing happened!

• that he can't stand to not be in on the action, and the second you bring him where the party is, he is perfectly happy.

• that he LOVES other babies and children, and he now reaches to touch their hands.

• reading to him is a joy because he actually listens and looks at the pages with me!

• his SMILE will truly make anyone melt.

• his LAUGH will make you laugh so hard you cry! he has done it to several people!!!

• he doesn't really cry, just whines, and i love that!

• that he loves having the ABC's sung to him, and really it's the song that can calm him if he is hungry or fussy!

• that he is so easy going. he just hangs out and goes with the flow.

• that he lets me sleep in the morning after i bring him to bed with me! he will lay there and talk and look at the ceiling perfectly content.

Oh, goodness, there are a million more things, but I am so beyond blessed and honored that God created Noah for Nathan and me to be his mommy and daddy. He is a joy every second of every day. I can't wait to get him out of his crib in a few short hours!

anyone seen my comforter?

yes, it's true. i washed my big comforter at the laundry mat, put it in the dryer, go home to eat dinner, return to the laundry mat, and my comforter is gone. a guy in there said a young gal left with it in a little red car. well, lesson learned here: DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING UNATTENDED AT A LAUNDRY MAT. i guess we will just have to be cold tonight. [the comforter is in the background of this photo] hopefully they still have this comforter at stein mart. it was on clearance back in october!!!

Zoe is a hero . . . saved a house and lives.

I must tell you this awe-inspiring story of my precious Boxer, Zoe. On Sunday, I was doing laundry and other such things around the house while Noah was napping and Nathan was on call at work. Zoe was whining to go outside, and I was in the middle of changing out the laundry, so I told her to hang tight, I was almost done. Well, about a minute goes by, and she is not letting up and being much more persistent than usual. So, I said, "Ok, Zo, you can go out." Well, our back door has a half window on it, and I was looking down a Zoe to let her out, and as I opened the door, she backed away from it, hesitating to go outside. I said, "Zoe, you were begging me to go out, GO OUT SILLY GIRL." Now, keep in mind that there is no way for Zoe to see out back when she is inside because the door window is too high. So, I shut the door and looked up (outside) and the neighbor's yard that backs up to my backyard is literally billowing with smoke and flames. I mean BILLOWING. I grabbed my phone and called 911 to get the firemen out there. My call was the first call into them. So, I had everything ready to jet out of my front door with Noah and Zoe just in case the fire headed our way. I watched, and the firemen showed up 5 minutes later and ran into their backyard fighting the fire. They put it out and then were surveying the scene for a few hours. Shortly thereafter, the Fire Marshal showed up on our front step. I told him that Zoe truly told me about the fire, and you know what he said . . . "If we had gotten there 30 seconds later, there was a huge pile of leaves that was about to ignite next to their garage, and that would have caught their house on fire and done a lot of damage. One of the kids was sleeping in the room right by the garage also." SO, Zoe was so persistent because she literally smelled trouble. She is the most amazing dog in this universe.

Noah's Baby Dedication

We were so honored on Sunday to dedicate Noah back to the Lord. Noah is God's to begin with, and this dedication ceremony at our church was a public proclamation that we completely trust God with our son and will seek Him out every step of the way in raising Noah.

Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

This is our heart for Noah, that he would seek to know God and submit to His will each and every day of his life. It is my prayer that he would be a radiant light of God's love. That he would bring great change to this dark world for God's kingdom.

My mom, Alex, Nathan's Mom, Doug, and my Gramps all came in from out of town. I know that my dad would have been there in a heart beat, but he is over 2,000 miles away! Thanks for all of the prayers from our other family members also. It was truly a blessed day! Oh, and I had the most fabulous cake recipe from my friend Kayla (Dream Whip Cake with Buttercream Frosting), and the center collapsed and my frosting job was very rushed at 1am, so it ended up being quite ugly!!! But, it was made with love by my mom and me for Noah!

Let's all take a moment to pray for each of our children (in my case, 1). Pray whatever is on your heart and ask God for His direction for each of their lives. Also, that He would guide you in raising them and if they are already on their own, that He would guide them in every decision and that they would glorify His name! And, if you don't have children yet, pray for them! Or pray for the children that are in your life.
They are such a special gift, and we should take a moment to really soak that in!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Blogging again!

I am back! To say the least, getting ready for Christmas and wrapping up work before the New Year was crazy! It seemed as though all of my jobs landed all at once with deadlines all before Christmas. So, many nights of staying up until 3 am consistently paid off because I somehow got it all done.

We had a marvelous Christmas in Albuquerque, and Noah had such a great time celebrating Jesus' birthday for the first time. He was the star of the town. We visited so many wonderful family members and friends, and we even had a mini high school reunion with about 15 of our closest high school friends. It was fabulous! My friend Gabby was there, who I hadn't seen or talked to since graduation 6 years ago, and she didn't know that Nathan and I were married or had a baby! It was quite the surprise.

We spent Christmas morning at my mom and Alex's. My Auntie Sheryl and Uncle Robert were there all the way from Cali! Noah met them for the first time, and it was very special. Christmas evening was with Nathan's mom and Doug, and we had a wonderful time with them. Christmas Eve was special because we went to Nathan's Dad and Grandpa's for Red Chile Enchiladas and Tamales. Yum yum. We also got to see Aunt Deana, Uncle Rick and Nannie (Nathan's fam). Well, that was that.

The New Year was rung in with yet again, Red Chile Enchiladas and Tamales accompanied by Lime Sherbet and Sprite to toast with - that is a tradition. Noah was of course, sleeping. I don't blame him!

Noah is nearly sitting up on his own, and he discovered his feet the other day. He now grabs them at any chance he gets. He loves to sing with us (he really does sing in his own way!), and he is mesmerized by Zoe, our Boxer. Zoe loves him too.

Ok, I have a confession . . . I was able to go on a short errand to pick up some tortillas for our chicken tacos yesterday, and let's just say, Noah stayed with Nathan at home, and I had a BLAST all by myself in Nathan's truck jamming out to my new favorite song. Is it bad that it felt good to be away from home by myself?! Well, I was thrilled, I felt like a teenager again, and the base was very loud. I don't get to turn the music up with precious Noah obviously, so I almost felt like a rebel!!! How funny those things we take for granted before kids. Oh, so you want to know my favorite new song?! Let me preface it with this: I listen to all Christian music and anything vintage (Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, etc), so my new favorite is very uncharacteristic of me. It is by T.I. (a RAPPER of all things!!!!), and it is called "Whatever You Like". I know, I am a nerd, but I was a closet 2Pac fan. Anyone else?

Moving, Moving & More Moving . . .

Well, it's true, we just spent the last three weeks moving about 2 blocks from where we used to live. We moved into a larger home, and we are LOVING it!!! The neighborhood is nicer, and it is such a great place. Nathan's dad, Mike, came up here from Albuquerque to help us, thank the Lord, because we literally could not have done it without him. He and Nathan were so funny, working on this and fixing that. They have a great father/son relationship, and for that, I am so grateful. So, I sit here in my office staring at boxes yet to be unpacked, but that's ok, I am tackling that tomorrow. My friends have been itching to see new photos of Noah, so I finally found my camera usb cord, so I could upload the most recent photos of that precious boy.

He is beyond fun. He is now 11 weeks old, and he is full of personality. Noah is a calm spirit with a dash of spunk! He talks all the time now, and it is so much fun to carry on a full conversation with him. If I can figure out how to upload a video, I will put it on here. (Does anybody know how to do that?)

He is already 15 lbs, and he is very long. He is full of nothing but smiles, and he started laughing for the first time on Friday! Nathan had him going! It made me melt. He has the most adorable little voice, one that I know will be used for great things in God's Kingdom. I can already imagine him telling me I Love You . . . sometimes it even sounds like that is what he is saying already!!!

For Halloween, my Auntie Sheryl sent Noah money to get his first costume! I was so excited to dress him up to go to our church's Fall Fest, and yes, he was a hit. He was a giraffe because that is his favorite animal. He gets most excited about the Giraffe in his book out of all the animals.

One last thing, we just had a marvelous weekend with Nathan's mom and Doug, and it was sad to see them go, but I know it was very special to Noah to see them. He just loves them. My mom and Gramps are coming up next weekend, and we are very anxious about that also! Much love to all.

Oh the adventures!!!!

Well, as you have noticed, I haven't posted in literally one month!!!! As you can all imagine, it has been a little hectic adjusting to a new baby, but boy has it been an amazing and joyous month! Here is a recap:

We arrived home from the hospital on August 16th, and Noah loved the ride home. He looked like such a cool guy pimping his "Buggy" as his Auntie (Sharah) calls his carseat. (Here he is at 2 days old!)

My amazing amazing amazing (I really could say that a million times over) mom so graciously stayed with us for three weeks (no, not three days, three WEEKS!!!) Oh the fun we had! We laughed and cried, took turns taking baby duty and altogether had an irreplaceable chance to make such great memories. Here is how it went:

•Noah was sleeping the first few nights, then we had to troubleshoot his gaseous problems. We tried Mylicon and three different Gripe Waters, one of which turned his nice orange poop to black and full of debris. We settled on Colic Ease, which has done wonders! After about a week of nights with me crying over my poor precious baby boy, we got somewhat of a system going.

• Breastfeeding has been great, other than squirting all over Noah and me several times, it really is like witnessing Old Faithful (which I have actually been to!).

• Noah, poor thing, decided he would go through a week or so of projectile vomiting, I am talking out of mouth and both nostrils. That phase is over, thank goodness, for Laundry's sake!! We would both have to change into new clothing!!

• We ventured out that first week to Babies R Us for our first outing, and Noah did amazing and slept the whole time.

• My dad came into town, and we of course, made it out to Cagle's Steakhouse . . . my dad's favorite. And, GET THIS, my dad bought us nearly 600 diapers!!! We are set for life - well almost!

• So, then for our Newborn Photo shoot with our amazing photographer Shan Ingram (www.shanrenee.com) . . . Outfits for the boys were EASY, umm, but what about me? 12 days after having a baby equals impossible to find outfits that are photo worthy on this majorly stretched out belly!! BUT, lo and behold, I found great outfits. Forever 21 has great stuff that is a little loose to cover postpartum bellies. Our photos turned out to be AMAZING! Yippee.

• So, as I had one second to sneak away all by myself to find those outfits, I am in the fitting room at Forever 21, and I get a call from my mom (still in Lubbock), and this is how it went, "Shanda, your mommy fell, and I am at the dadada Office Building", me: "Oh my gosh . . . I am leaving right now" . . . As I literally ran out of the mall (barely even able to walk in slow speed from the Labor). Zoom zoom, I thought she was seriously injured and she already has a bad back. She scraped her knees badly but God completely protected her back!!!

• Mom cooked, cleaned (I mean really cleaned, and it hasn't been really cleaned like that since) did probably 200 loads of laundry, folded probably 2,000 items, and of course melted over "Baby Noah" as she calls him. Boy, Gran (her name for Noah) made life easy. All good things must come to an end, and it was a sad sad day when she left.
• My Grandpa came into town and bought Noah a bunch of Dallas Cowboys garb, of which Nathan was over thrilled about NOT!! It was funny!

• We went back to church when Noah was 2 weeks old, thank goodness for the Cry Room!

• Alex, my mom's husband, came into town, and he and Noah watched football (you see, Alex played college football for Wake Forest and NFL football for the Seattle Seahawks). Then he stole my mom back!!!! There were definite tears.

• SO, mom leaves, then it is just Nathan and me for the weekend, and then Nathan goes OUT OF TOWN that Wednesday for 4 days!!!! Not only did my mom just leave, but then my husband leaves 3 days later!!!!! Well, we did GREAT, although I was very nervous about it at first.

• Last weekend, Nathan's mommy and Doug came, and we had a great time with them!

• I think things are balancing out now . . . I have been working for 2.5 weeks, and it is even difficult to get the towel off of my head to dry my hair, if I am even so lucky to do that!!

• SO, Nathan and I go to church, to lunch, and then Target. Well, I unbuckled Noah in his carseat while we were in Target and of course covered him up. So, I put his car seat in the car . . la dee da... Nathan is driving and Noah starts fussing, and Nathan says, "Something doesn't feel right, did you buckle him up?" UHHHHHHH . . . PULL OVER RIGHT NOW, NO I DIDN'T!!!! Ok, so not only was my son in his car seat not buckled, but we had driven on the Loop AND truly Nathan had to swerve on Indiana into another lane to avoid being hit by the inches. And Noah was unbuckled. Thank you Jesus for watching over us!!

• One more story . . . Noah and I had to run errands yesterday for my work and stop by Babies R Us. We get to Babies R Us, I get his stroller out, put his car seat in it, and in to the store we happily go. La dee da . . . 35 minutes later we are done, and I get Noah in the car, stroller put up, walk around to the driver's side, and THE DOOR WAS LEFT COMPLETELY OPEN!!!!!!!! Oh goodness, I titled this entry with the word adventures for a good reason huh?!!

Overall, Noah is an UNBELIVABLE, and I mean that, baby. He is such a calm spirit and so content, but he is definitely a passionate fellow and knows what he wants. He talks all the time, it is so cute when he babbles through his pacifier!! He is sleeping anywhere from 4-7 hours at night, and he is eating very well. Chubby cheeks are proof of that! He is so handsome, and such a cuddle bug. I love him more than words could ever describe, and I am honored to be his mommy.

We are so beyond grateful for the amazing support we have and all the help offered!! Our church friends made dinners for us for several nights, and much more! I will be posting regularly now! Much love to all.

What an amazing and precious baby boy he is!!!! He was born on August 14th at 7:38pm. He weighed 7 lbs, 11 oz. and is 21" long! After a very long labor (41 hours!!!! — 12 from the time we arrived at the hospital), our long awaited Noah is here! There are no words to describe our immediate love for him . . . we are so honored that God chose us to be his mommy and daddy. God is so faithful, and Noah is perfect in every way.

He is such a calm spirit, so peaceful and amazing. Enjoy the photos!

My sister, dear friends Emily, June & Robin hosted a baby shower for us two weekends ago, and let's just say it was exquisite!!!! The decorations were stunning, the food was impeccable & the fun was well, FUN!! My favorite part was the chocolate fountain!

Hello!! I have been so unbelievably busy preparing for Noah's very close arrival!!! In the midst of it all, God opened a door for me to open a booth for my design business at a local craft mall, so WHEW!! It has been crazy to say the least! I will be selling my custom stationery card sets, bookmarks, recipe cards and much much more!!! I am so excited! I went from reading my pregnancy and baby books to only reading business books and researching the world of product design and retail strategies!!! But, I am now back on track preparing for our precious baby boy!

His room is nearly done, so I will post photos of it completed. I LOVE spending time in there because it is so serene and relaxing.
He has dropped into the birthing canal, so he could make his appearance any day. I am telling him he must wait for at least two more weeks, so I can get everything done that I need to for work, the booth and him!!! We spring cleaned the house this weekend, so that is done . . . whew! I feel very good about that. I was unpacking his diapers into a basket for his changing table, and it became so real to me that I am about to be a mommy!!! It was a revelation!!

Nathan is amazing . . . he already put the car seat base in my car, and he has been nesting also!!! We have been quite the crazy duo in getting everything just right for Noah. We are honored that God chose us to be his mommy and daddy, and we can't wait to hold him and love on him and teach him all about our precious Savior Jesus! Here is a photo of me at 36 weeks! And, Zoe has claimed Noah's rug as hers!!! It is so cute . . . she spends lots of time in his room, even without us. I think she thinks it is her room! We go in there and find not one of her bones, and not just one of her toys, but ALL of them spread out on the rug!!!! She is going to be a great sister to Noah. Love and blessings!

Today we had our 32 week ultrasound, and everything is perfect perfect!!! God is so unbelievably amazing, and his process of creation just totally finds me awestruck . . . there are no words. Noah was very comfortable with his face buried into the uterine wall, so we only got a half face photo. He was very proud of his boy parts though! Funny boy already! We have 8 weeks to go . . . very very excited to meet our precious baby boy!!!

Whew! We have been gone for 2 weeks, and are now finally home again!

We had our baby shower in Albuquerque last weekend, and it was such a blast! I am going to tell you about Nathan's favorite gift. Our nephew, Gabriel, who is now 5 (wow! time flies), has always had his favorite Monkey, named Fred. Fred goes everywhere with him, and it is the cutest thing. Well, Gabriel and his mommy, Mandy, went shopping for Noah before the shower and Gabriel had to get Noah a monkey of course. So, now Noah is carrying on with the Monkey tradition. The monkey is Nathan's absolute favorite gift, and I actually caught him sleeping ever so peacefully with Noah's monkey! He is so cute. He is just so excited about giving all of these precious gifts to our son. Well, the other night, we went to Babies R Us and bought our Stroller Travel system, it is the coolest! Nathan of course had it all put together within minutes of us getting home, and he was pushing it around the house with guess who strapped into the car seat?!!!!! Yes, the MONKEY. So, I had to share the photo of this. Oh, Nathan is amazingly amazing and hilarious.

Noah's Room is Underway!!!

We picked up his darling furniture yesterday, and literally before the box with the crib could be set down, Nathan was ripping into it to unpack his son's crib and set it up! He set it up very very quickly, and I just love his ultimate excitement and his anticipation for our son to be born!! It really resonated with me in the example of Christ because as He is knitting each child together in their mother's womb, he is in utter excitement at each and every baby that is to be "unwrapped", and I caught a glimpse of Christ's love for us as I watched Nathan's excitement! We were so honored and excited to begin to prepare the place where Noah will sleep, play & grow! We are making sure every detail is accounted for, and it is such a sweet time for us these few short months before Noah enters this world. This is just the very beginning of his room, so I will post photos when it is done also.

My sister is getting married in just 3 short weeks, and it has been such a fun time to prepare for her big day together!! I am sure I stress her out with my somewhat anal retentive tendencies when it comes to design and etiquette, but nonetheless, we are having such a fabulous time making memories as we prepare for the big day.

I hosted a shower for her with the theme of Everything Kitchen, and I wanted to share some photos of this marvelous event in which we all had such a great time. Design is my passion, and I want my business to encompass event planning eventually, when I settle into a retail location.

Her wedding colors are black and white with red accents. I had all the gals wear black & white, and it made the shower SO much fun because we were all in her wedding colors. Even the candy wrappers were either black & white or red.

I changed my mind . . . I am good at that! Here is the bedding we are registered for, and I LOVE it!!!! Simple sophistication. And, it's brand new from Pottery Barn Kids. Nathan painted Noah's room on Sunday, and he was so precious . . . he said, "I have never been so worried about the small details. I wanted it to be perfect for him." And, boy is it!! After me worrying that the color was going to be too dark, it actually ended up being exactly what I had envisioned.

Before the painting, we had to clear out our entire guest room, and thank goodness for Nathan because he is very quick, and I am much more inclined to go through everything one by one. He had that room cleared out SO fast!!! He is very very excited to prepare Noah's room, and so am I.

Well, Nathan and I had a blast last night when I asked him to take my 26 week belly photo . . . he was in the midst of taking care of some finance business, and I insisted he get in the kitchen to take the picture, so I could get ready to go to bed. Well, he wasn't the most enthusiastic about being interrupted, but lo and behold, he came! So, I either kept blinking or wasn't standing perfectly to the side, so we ended up taking 6 photos until we got it right. Then I volunteered him to take a few photos with me, so we have some together. He wasn't happy about that either, so of course the rare attitude came out of him, and although we were laughing, that was also mixed with some frustration on both sides. I like him to cooperate, what can I say. SO, here are the funny photos for this hilarious 10 minutes in the kitchen. (Oh, and enjoy Nathan's blue shorts! LOL!)

Well, it was quite an eventful weekend last weekend as my sister, Sharah, graduated from LCU! We had the fam in town, and it was a blast. We went to dinners, ventured to an off the wall, yet really cool winery called Pheasant Ridge, (of course I don't like to drink anyway, but especially not pregnant!!! so, don't worry!) then an early Sunday morning trip to Albuquerque with my family. I had to go there for several wedding appointments we had for Sharah's wedding. It was a blast to get to have it just the girls, mom, sis & me for a few days (well, I guess Noah was with us, so not really all girls!!). It is going to be a very busy start to summer, but I am so excited about all of the upcoming bridal showers for sis, baby showers for us, the wedding for sis and PaulMichael and then preparing for our precious baby boy in the midst of it all! I know it has been a long time since I have posted, but whew, it has been such a busy couple of weeks! Mom came into town two weeks ago and then I had to report into work all last week to fill in for one of the partners of the company I do freelance design for. God has been so great, as always, and Noah is getting very big in my belly! Nathan and I registered last weekend for our baby showers. We had the best time, and Nathan designated himself as King of the Scanner Gun! Oh boys! We registered at Babies R Us, Target and Baby Depot (part of Burlington). We found his furniture also, and we are really starting to plan his room, so we can get it going at the end of May. Check out what we registered for on those websites, and then find ours by my name.

His room is going to be a "Sophisticated Safari". Sophisticated, meaning no cute baby safari animals, no baby pastel colors . . . simply that, simple sophistication. I know, I am picky!! Neutral browns and tans, blacks, whites, with a splash of a subdued kiwi green. I will post various components we plan to get for his room.

He has been moving like crazy, and it is the most surreal feeling ever! Nathan actually felt him for only the second time two nights ago. It is a very funny story:
So, we had just read to Noah about Joseph in his Children's Bible, and Nathan was talking to him and then proceeded to lay his head gently on my belly with his ear resting right over my belly button. He was wondering what it sounded like "in there"! Well, as he was telling Noah how much he loves him, Noah gave him a swift kick right on his ear!!! It was so substantial that Nathan not only felt it, he HEARD it!!! How cool is that?! Noah loves his daddy and wanted him to know that!

Just knowing that God is so perfectly knitting Noah together in my womb is the most amazing reality for me right now. The Lord is currently wiring him together with such substantial detail, not overlooking any tiny tiny part of his precious little being. I love that God is instilling Noah's talents and special gifts right now as I type this. Psalm 139 comes to mind, and God has really impressed this passage on my heart, as our precious baby is growing inside of me. I love carrying this child, and I love that God is the MASTER CREATOR. He is teaching me so much throughout this pregnancy about his amazing glory and mysterious ways. It has been so exciting to share the love of Jesus with Noah since we first knew of him. We have been reading him Children's Bible stories, and it is our prayer that he will grow up clinging to the love of the Lord and bring Glory to God's name all of his life.

Here is our precious baby's face! It is kind of hard to tell with these, but he is so absolutely adorable. I just want to kiss his little cheeks!! We had out target ultrasound yesterday, and he is perfect in every way!! His heart, lungs, bones, nose, everything. God is such an amazing creator, and we can's wait to see this precious boy in about 18 weeks. That is going to fly by. Love to all.

Boy, is Noah getting big!!! I keep telling him to slow down just a little bit because I am going to be a blimp, since I have 4 months left!!! Oh well, whatever room he needs is great with me! We have our Doctor's appointment today, and then our targeted ultrasound this coming Monday. My mom is coming into town this weekend, and I am so excited because she is going to stay through Tuesday to go to Noah's ultrasound appointment with us! Gotta love our mommies. Here is a retrospective collage of weeks 10 through 20. Noah is growing like crazy now, and it is the most exciting thought that in just a few short months, we will get to see his beautiful little face and kiss his toes! I started to feel him move about three weeks ago, and now, his movements are much more pronounced!!! I love every second of carrying him. I talk to him every time he moves and tell him about the millions of people who are anticipating his arrival. He is going to be one loved boy! To say the least. Our next appointment in on April 3rd, and then our second doctoral ultrasound is on April 7th. We get to see him again in a short 2 weeks. Blessings to all.

I took Nathan to this absolutely gorgeous ranch that is about an hour and a half away from Lubbock for his birthday. Brazos de Dios means “In the arms of God”, and we did feel God’s serenity in this place! One of my best friends, Heather, has an amazing mom, Katherine, who was so gracious to let us enjoy the ranch in trade for some design work! She manages this gorgeous place, and we got it all to ourselves Saturday and Sunday. It was a great time of relaxation, movies and fun cooking! God is so good . . . it is amazing to experience his beauty in new places.

All of a sudden, my belly has just gotten huge! I know there’s lots more growing to do also!! Noah is now 7 inches long and weighs a light 8oz. Just the fact that he is already 7 inches long freaked me out!! No wonder my belly is getting out there! I can actually feel him now, and it is the most amazing feeling I have ever felt . . . Seeing him in motion on the ultrasound DVD has really made everything so beyond real! And, now that we know he is a boy, it is so unbelievably real . . . we can actually call him by name, and his ears are developed enough to hear us now too. We are going to start reading him children's Bible stories tonight and every night until he gets here, and then of course, we have many joyful years of reading to him as we hold him in our arms. I am so honored that God chose Nathan and me to be Noah’s parents — it is the most amazing gift I have ever received other than the gift of salvation through Jesus, of course. The love I have for this precious boy is indescribable. We are so graciously thankful for the amazing love and support of our family and friends with the anticipation of this baby! He is going to be one loved and spoiled little boy!

I also included his growing wardrobe . . . we couldn't resist! I bought the little blue and brown beanie about 3 months ago, right when we found out that I was pregnant, because I knew it was going to be a boy! And, you will recognize one of his outfits from the first batch of clothes I bought at the Old Navy Baby Sale. Then Nathan and I went to BabyGap on Saturday right after we found out that he is a boy and bought him the cute little outfit with the gray shorts. Much love and many blessings to all!

The majority of you who voted in our poll were WRONG!!! We ventured to Stork Vision this morning, and we are having a precious BOY!!!!!!!!!! Oh, Nathan and I were correct!!!!! I knew I had that feeling for a reason. So, we will be welcoming baby Noah Thomas Hasse into this world around August 12th, 2008. The ultrasound session we had was AMAZING. The woman, Sheryl, who did the session was so precious, and she said he looked perfect in every way, from heart to everything! And, I must tell you, Noah was very very proud to show us he is a boy!! Spread eagle position!! (Don't you worry mom, we will figure this whole boy thing out!!!) I had tears of joy streaming down my face and Nathan couldn't wipe the smile off of his! Noah is sure to be daddy's best buddy and a mama's boy! See, I come from a family of all girls, mostly my entire extended family also, but I am so excited to embrace the joys of raising a boy! Although, I must say, it will take getting used to because I am all girl . . . thank goodness I drag raced cars for years, I guess that gives me some points in the male arena, thanks Dad! At least I can say that I can build a racing engine (of course with the help of dad). So, Noah, you have a very well-rounded mommy. I can hairspray my hair with the best of them, and do a burnout in my race car with the best of em!!!!! And your daddy can play baseball with the best of em and then watch chick flicks with the best also!!! We are honored to be the parents of such a precious baby boy. Thank you to our amazing God for this healthy baby boy.

Nathan and I had our appointment yesterday, and it went great! They just checked the baby's heartbeat and my vitals etc. The baby's heart is beating a strong 147 beats per minute. And, I have actually gained weight now — 5 pounds! So, we were told we would be scheduling our next ultrasound at this appointment for a few days following the appointment, but the nurse came into our room and said, "Ok, great, your ultrasound is scheduled for April 7th, and this is when you will find out the baby's gender and also they will thoroughly check the baby's heart and other vital parts." I said to her, "You're kidding right . . . April 7th??!! We can't wait that long to find out if this baby is a boy or girl!! Is there anyway to bump that up much closer to now?" Well, to make a long story short, they couldn't move the appointment. SO . . . Nathan and I got in the car and immediately called this place called, Stork Vision, a retail ultrasound location where we can pay to get a gender determination ultrasound! For a mere $125, we get to know on Saturday if it's a boy or girl, and it comes with 8 photos, a DVD, and a CD of all the images! That is well worth our money to save us the anxiety over the gender of this baby!!! We are thrilled.

I really think it's a boy, but we will find out for sure tomorrow!!! I have dreamt we had a boy 3 times since I was pregnant, and also about 2 years ago, I had a very vivid dream about having a baby boy and I actually saw his sweet little face! He had Nathan's eyes.

My really good friend Magen and her husband Keith prayed for their son when she was pregnant that he would have his blue eyes with brown hair, and that he would be the most happy baby . . . and many other things that God granted them!!! We are praying that this baby will have Nathan's eyes, but with my perfect vision! We pray that God would bless us with the most healthy baby, with a heart that desires God fervently, that they will be so intelligent with God's wisdom and peace, that they would be a happy baby and more importantly, a happy person, and also that they would be so radiantly beautiful or handsome.

Yes, as you guessed, I have another funny story straight from the Hasse Residence. This morning, Nathan had to go to work for a possible surgery that could have used his products, so he left at 6:30a to go to the hospital and work. Well, he came back because they postponed the surgery, and he got back in bed. About 30 minutes later, he gets a call from another sales rep he works with, and he has to go to another hospital for the possibility of another surgery that could utilize his products. That surgery ended up being a different type of surgery that didn't need his expertise and product. So, now he comes home to enjoy a little coffee and breakfast (9:30). Of course, I am still in bed. He leaves again for something else for work and calls me to let me know he is going to get his haircut and check on Sharah's cat Baylee, and then he lightly mentions that he had the last of my Lucky Charms for breakfast . . . UMMMM, yeah, Lucky Charms has been pretty much my only craving (other than the occasional pickles craving), and I had truly been laying in bed for about 20 minutes before the call just thinking about how excited I was to get up to eat the mouthwatering marshmallowey Lucky Charms. So, now my hopes and dreams of this delightful breakfast are immediately and intensely CRUSHED. So, I said, "Babe, I have been salivating over the idea of my Lucky Charms for the past 20 minutes . . . and our precious baby NEEDS their Charms." Well, he knew there was no choice, and I did feel terrible, but nothing else at this point would suffice for breakfast. He was really accepting of the reality as he said, "I knew I shouldn't have eaten those . . . I should have bought a breakfast burrito or something!" So, off to Walgreens he went while he waited for his hair appointment, and for the record, he bought us (baby and me) not one, but TWO, boxes of the scrumptious cereal!!! I really am blessed to have such an amazing and wonderful husband who is willing to pay the consequences of consuming the last of the Lucky Charms!!! No, really though, Nathan is truly the most amazing husband in every way, and I fall more in love with him every day through these life-altering experiences!!!

So, yes, I broke down and shopped the Old Navy Baby Sale last weekend! Here is what I got . . . both girl and boy outfits because the baby's gender is still a mystery to us! I love these cute little clothes . . . I can't believe our baby will be wearing them in just a mere 5.5 months! I am so amazed at God's mighty power and creativity with his process of creation. He is the ultimate DESIGNER, and wow, that makes me want to be a designer in His likeness. Enjoy these cute "designer" clothes!

Ok, so I have a very funny story and actually should have taken a picture of it so you could better see what I am talking about! I was in my best friend, Heather’s, wedding this last weekend, and the day of her wedding, we all met at the church at 2p to get ready together. Well, I hadn't had a chance to grab lunch between the Bridesmaids’s Brunch that ended at about noon and then subsequently shopping the Baby Sale at Old Navy, only to rush home to gather my essentials for getting ready and dash for the church. So, I had planned on going to Taco Villa to get a taco and huge water, but while en route, I was on the phone with the Bride and she mentioned that she and her mom were having tea, so DING! I immediately thought of the mouth watering iced tea from Chick-fil-A and then that led my train of thought to the scrumptious chicken sandwich with EXTRA pickles. Now, granted the idea of the tea is what started this whole thing, and I haven't had caffeine since I have been pregnant, and don't worry, I didn't on this day either. Well, fast forward to me opening my beloved lunch at the church in our prep room . . . So, with my lemonade in hand and opening the wrapper to the sandwich, Heather immediately notices that my wrapper has a neon orange sticker on it that says "Extra Pickles" . . . and just thinks that is so absolutely hilarious when I hadn't even thought a second about it!!!! We were all laughing as if it were a public advertisement of my pregnancy! Well, after thinking about it, other than craving Lucky Charms lately, I guess we could gather that I HAVE BEEN CRAVING PICKLES!!!!!! Oh goodness, I hate to be cliche! I am the opposite of cliche, a free-spirited artist who wants to be her own unique individual . . . now craving the infamous pickle as we all so often hear. Cheers to pickles!

Well, we had our appointment this morning, and it went very well! We were able to hear our precious baby's heartbeat, and it sure is beating strong at 150 beats per minute! That was an unreal experience. So, now, not only have we been able to see the baby, but we have heard the little one also! We love our doctor, and today was the first time we were able to meet her. She is so gentle and maternal really. God has us at such an amazing time in our lives right now, and all glory goes to Him. Despite the few wrinkles with selling our house in ABQ and the rental house we own here in Lubbock, I was just reminded that those are such temporary obstacles, and it is my desire to focus clearly on the irreplaceable gifts God has entrusted Nathan and me with. Ok, so here I am at 12 weeks (same day of our ultrasound). I will update these as the weeks go by. Ooooh the fun we have in store!!

We have our first appointment with Dr. Burley on Thursday. We are excited to get the thorough exam on everything. Although, we were fortunate to have an ultrasound before this! We already know that everything is perfect. God has been so amazing with his faithfulness . . . he is always faithful, no matter the circumstance! Today’s verse is: “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting” James 1:6. I LOVE that!!! We must pray and ask for things knowing that God already has it all under control. It is so easy to worry, especially in this pregnancy, with a miscarriage behind us. BUT, take heed . . . for our mighty God has already created and conquered the world! If he can do that, he is capable of literally anything. I will keep you posted on our doc visit.
